Sponsored by The PIABA Foundation, the James E. Beckley Writing Competition is a writing contest for law students interested in Securities Arbitration and Securities Law. The PIABA Bar Journal Board-of-Editors will publish the first place paper, and may, at their option, elect to print additional submissions.

First Prize is $1000, Second Prize is $750, and Third Prize is $500. Winners will be announced at the PIABA Annual Meeting and posted on The PIABA Foundation and PIABA websites.


2018 James E. Beckley Writing Competition Submission Deadline. Entries are due to The PIABA Foundation on or before 5 pm eastern on August 31, 2018. Papers shall be submitted electronically through The PIABA Foundation with the subject heading, “2018 Beckley Writing Competition”. Upon receipt of an entry, confirmation of receipt will be sent by email. If you do not receive receipt confirmation, please contact The PIABA Foundation at (405) 310-2444.
