The Cornell Securities Law Clinic at Cornell Law School in Ithaca, NY, has an opening for an adjunct law professor to assist in the clinic starting with spring term 2023 and potentially continuing beyond that. The clinic was founded in 2008 and is run by Cornell Law School Clinical Professor of Law, and longtime PIABA member, William A. Jacobson. There is up to a three-semester sequence in the clinic, with the first semester the focus, but typically involving some students who continue. The adjunct position is part time and does not require classroom teaching. The position has a variety and varying duties, but typically assists in (a) helping coach and attending the clinic’s FINRA/St. Johns Triathlon team in the fall, and preparing and accompanying students to the PIABA Hill Day trip in the spring, (b) coaching a team in the clinic’s internal mock mediation and mock arbitration training and events, (c) helping supervise continuing student research and writing projects, and (d) generally helping out as needed, including potentially amicus briefs and student case preparation. It is not necessary to be on campus, most of the job can be done by Zoom, but some visits to campus will be required to accomplish the objectives.
